My gift to you :)

This was a group I was a part of for several years early 90's. We performed all around Minnesota and even went to the Fringe Festival in Scotland to perform. There, we busked on the street during the day, and played in gorgeous spaces at night.

We recorded this at Maud Moon Weyerhaeuser Music Studio (Studio M) in Downtown St. Paul.
Studio M is a world-class, state-of-the-art recording facility housed within Minnesota Public Radio's headquarters building in Downtown St. Paul.

I was really enamoured with the combination of instruments. Cello lead, Harp comp et al, Percussion. I was playing mostly percussion - this ceramic Doumbek esp (in the picture section), which I still have not broken !!..

Laura Sewell, Cello - was the founder and Cellist of the Lark String Quartet.
She is really the showcase in this collection of music in my opinion.
Just the most beautiful player and person. You can hear her breathing on some tracks and I love that.

I never liked the way the mastering was done on this. We got a lot of airplay during this time, and when a track came on I always was turning up the volume to hear it.
There are REALLY nice dynamics that I think are just lost.

So I went and remastered it here!
I use the Dangerous Music hardware Compressor and Bax EQ combination.

I also left off the last track, an arrangement I did of Dave Brubeck's
"Blue Rondo a la Turk". I remember there was a squeak in my pedal or instrument the day we were tracking this. I was using pickups at the time in a different ensemble so the engineer took that feed and used that sound, ....and it sucks. Definitely not his fault, I should have insisted on Mics and fixing the squeak.

I really enjoyed listening back to these tracks after all these years, and hope you find it an enjoyable listen.

Remember this is my GIFT to you all !!
Thank You !!
